Neuro-Linguistic Programming was a system developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder when their research on very successful therapists, Virginia Satir, Milton Erickson and Frank Perlz showed that they seemed to use similar techniques to obtain information, and influence their clients .
'Neuro' refers to the nervous system, 'Linguistic', the language that we use to talk to oursleves and others which directly influences us, and Programming, the set of programmes we have in place from our upbringing that again influences the way we react to people and to our environment.
Bandler and Grinder developed a whole system of exercises, techniques and language patterens that help to change old negative programmes and enable transformation to occur. People can be rid of fears, phobias and negative habits, become more relaxed, confident and find it easier to reach their highest potential.
